Letter of Intent for 10th World Water Forum Signed
Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), World Water Council (WWC), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Wednesday (02/15), signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on cooperation for the organization of the 10th World Water Forum in the Opening Ceremony of World Water Forum Kick-off Meeting, at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta.
The LoI regulates all organizers to act within the cooperation framework and enable them to actively participate in the cooperation with the aim to success the organization of the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali in May 2024.
This LoI was signed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR, Mohammad Zainal Fatah, as Head of the Secretariat of the National Committee for Organizing the 10th World Water Forum, President of WWC Loic Fauchon, and UNESCO’s Director of the Division of Water Sciences and Secretary of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Program Abou Amani. The signing was witnessed by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono as Deputy Chair of the National Committee for Organizing the 10th World Water Forum.
For the record, the 10th World Water Forum will be held on 18 – 24 May 2024 in Bali with the theme “Water of Shared Prosperity”. The event is projected to attract around 17,000 of target participants and 30,000 visitors from 172 countries.
On that occasion, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljonosaid that World Water Forum is the world’s biggest water-related event participated by all stakeholders in the water-related sector to share their experiences and innovations in responding to global water challenges.
“In the 10th World Water Forum, stakeholders at all levels must have initiative and responsibility to immediately take bold and real actions. We need behavior change, awareness at all levels, initiative, responsibility, collaboration, solidarity, and financing which all lead to concrete actions,” the Minister said, as quoted by pu.go.id.
