Indonesia’s Electronic-based government system (SPBE) continues to show positive record, according to Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas.

“We reported that the national SPBE index increased from 2.34 or an “Adequate” grade in 2022 to 2.79 or a “Good” grade in 2023,” Anas said at the SPBE Summit 2024 and Launching of GovTech Indonesia at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (05/27).

An increase in the national SPBE index is also coupled with an increase of United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI) from ranking 88 with a B grade in 2020 to 77 with “A” grade in 2022.

He went on to say the establishment of GovTech and development of strategic system including the Digital Public Infrastructure lead to a significant leap in national digital ecosystem development.

According to him, almost all top-ranked countries of the United Nations E-Government Development Index have a national GovTech that drives digital progress. It shows the importance of the national GovTech to acceleration of digital transformation in Indonesia.

He added that the GovTech Indonesia is formed based on Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2023 on the Acceleration of Digital Transformation and Integration of National Digital Services.

He expressed hope that the GovTech to serve as a driver that improve the Government’s digital capabilities by leveraging the nation’s best digital talent.

“We underscore that GovTech Indonesia is not a platform or application, but rather the implementation of an integrated government digital service ecosystem.” He said, adding that people can easily access various services through GovTech Indonesia.

In order to provide ease, speed, and transparency in public services, the public only needs to log in once to access all available services in GovTech, such as job information, health service information, social assistance information, and others.

“”In the initial phase, 15 institutions will integrate their services into the public service portal and the government administration portal. Therefore, on this occasion, witnessed by the President, the 15 institutions will sign a commitment to ensure that the achievements of the past five months can continue until the initial launch of the integrated services in the third quarter of 2024 and to ensure its sustainability in the future,” he added.

The Minister also expected that the sustainability of this program can be affirmed and to be included in the national digital strategic project. (TGH/ABD) (RAS/LW)
