Wiranto made the statement during the distribution of Intellectual Property Rights Certificate and Deed of Establishment of Legal Entity in Jakarta, Monday (8/4).

“The President on several occasions has also said that the Government should provide convenient access for national entrepreneurs and create more entrepreneurs to become a developed country,” Wiranto said.

On that occasion, the Coordinating Minister also shared his experience when he was invited by the Guangzhou Governor to the Guangzhou Fair.  “I asked the Governor about the measures that China makes to create significant progress in the economy and the Governor said that his country made a lot of innovations by observing, imitating, and modifying.” he said.

Wiranto went on to say that a similar method is applied in the manufacturing of Wuling car in Indonesia, as well as in car industry in Japan and South Korea.

The Coordinating Minister added that Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and Ministry of Law and Human Rights have made a joint effort to facilitate the issuance of Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) in 34 provinces and 80 cities in 2016 to 2018 for 5,671 applicants.

“The program is also supported by a collaboration between Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and Ministry of Law and Human Rights by implementing another program, namely Saber Pungli (Illegal Levies Eradication Task Force). The practice of illegal levy has disrupted economic growth.” Wiranto said.

On that occasion, Wiranto also applauded Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and National Development University (UPN Veteran) that collaborate with the Creative Economy Agency to facilitate the registration of Intellectual Property Rights.

“I hope that more cooperation between the Creative Economy Agency, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Private Sectors, and universities will be manifested in the future and Indonesia will gradually have 14% entrepreneur rate and become a developed country,”  Wiranto said.
