Institutional Affairs, Financing are Major Aspects of Capital Relocation: Bappenas
There are two major aspects in capital relocation and its development plans, namely institutional affairs and financing, General Secretary of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Himawan Hariyoga has said.
During a public relations coordination meeting adopting the theme “Progress of Policy on Capital Relocation” on Thursday (6/2) in Jakarta, Himawan explained that the public mostly only have a little information regarding those two aspects.
Thus, he added, the Government has established a team comprising of nine working groups which represent ministries/agencies as well as non-governmental agencies to gather information about the capital relocation.
“The team is now ready to disseminate the information to the public,” Himawan said, adding that the first topic to disseminate to the public is regarding the legal aspect (of the capital relocation), while other aspects will be disseminated in the near future.
Himawan also underlined that the capital relocation is the number one priority for the Government and the issue has become a public concern.
After information dissemination, he added, the next important task is to prepare a more detailed masterplan for the new capital. (HEN/EN)
