Your Excellency Prime Minister Fumio Kishida,

I would like to express my gratitude for the warm welcome to my delegation and myself. On behalf of Indonesian people, I also would like to express my sincere condolences for the passing of former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

During the bilateral meeting with PM Kishida, we have agreed a number of agreements. We have agreed that the amendments protocol of IJEPA (Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement) can be concluded and signed at the G20 Summit in Bali, in November.

Particularly I have told that Japan can reduce export rate for Indonesian products including tuna, banana, pineapple and can open market access for mango product. I warmly welcome other new investments from Japan in Indonesia and I also express my gratitude to Japan for all projects that have completed on time. Thus, I invite Japan to new investment in other sectors in Indonesia.

A number of strategic projects that must be immediately done are including Jakarta North-South Phase II and East-West Phase I, Bintuni Bay Industrial Zone in West Papua province, Expansion of the Patimban port and Patimban Access Toll. We also discussed partnership commitment on the Abadi LNG plant in Masela block of Maluku. It is our hope that Japan can support Indonesia in knowledge and technology sector in order to support Indonesian strategic projects, especially for down streaming of natural commodities, development of electric vehicles (EV), food sector, and healthcare.

Particularly I call on Japan to support Indonesia in achieving the target of Net Zero Emission Indonesia through innovative technology advocacy, namely hydrogen and ammonia technology.

We also offer intensive partnership regarding deployment of Indonesian migrant workers to Japan. Therefore, it is our hope that that Japan can give support in preparing skillful workers.

Related to regional and global issues, I express my gratitude to Japan for supporting G20 Presidency of Indonesia and being involved in significant efforts to rebuild global economy. In relations with Indo-Pacific issue, next year Indonesia will hold ASEAN Presidency while Japan will hold the G7 Presidency. We will continue to collaborate in discussing presidency’s priority agenda so that we will offer more contributions in seeking peace and welfare at regional and global levels.

I thank you, Your Excellency Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. We will see you soon at the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
