Kadin to Support Efforts on Acceleration of National Vaccination Program
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) welcomed the arrival of 1,408,000 doses of ready-to-use Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, on Tuesday (13/07), at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten province.
“This not only shows the Government’s strong commitment to meet the needs of vaccines for the people, which are given for free, but also answers our requests and needs to immediately carry out vaccination for workers, employees, and their families,” said Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for International Relations Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, in a video conference, shortly after the arrival of the Sinopharm vaccine.
The Deputy Chairperson also said that Kadin Indonesia affirmed its support for the Government’s national vaccination program through Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) scheme by participating and independently financing the purchase of vaccines for workers, employees, and their families in order to achieve herd immunity, especially in the work environment.
“We will always support all government programs that aim to free all of us from this pandemic immediately, so that we can return to normal, and we can restore our economy, and we can get our productivity back,” Shinta said.
In addition, Kadin Indonesia has also prepared a number of programs to help ease the burden of the Government and the people. such as building vaccination centers in industrial areas, building oxygen emergency houses, and other forms of assistance.
“We will continue to take concrete measures and maintain our commitment to helping the acceleration of national vaccination. For us, health recovery is a way to revive the Indonesian economy once again,” she said. (SLN/AIT/UN) (FI/MMB)
