President Jokowi Attends ASEAN-Japan Summit

As part of the working visit in Japan, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Sunday (12/17) attended the 50th    Year Commemorative Summit of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation at The Okura Hotel.

Upon arrival at the venue, the President was greeted by Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and joined a joint photo session of ASEAN leaders.

During the photo session, President Jokowi stood between Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính of Viet Nam.

Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi explained that President Jokowi would co-chair the summit as Indonesia still assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN.

“This ASEAN-Japan Summit is the biggest final session of Indonesian Chairmanship in ASEAN,” the Minister said on her press statement on Saturday (16/12). (Bureau of Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GA/EP)
