President Jokowi Authorizes KPK to Process Graft Case Involving PLN Director

In response to the naming of President Director of state-owned electricity company PT PLN Sofyan Basir as graft suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), President Joko Jokowi Widodo has given authority to the KPK to resolve any existing legal issues, particularly on corruption cases.
The statement was made by the President after the inauguration of the 2019 Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair, at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (24/4).
Previously, in a press statement on Tuesday (23/4), KPK Deputy Chairman Saut Situmorang said that Sofyan has allegedly received graft from a businessman in return for the right to develop Riau-1 power plant project. Sofyan has allegedly received the same amount of graft money as other suspects, Saut firmly said. (HIM/JAY/ES)
