During the meeting, the two leaders discussed measures to boost Indonesia-Vietnam cooperation in various fields.

One of the collaborations discussed is in the field of renewable energy.

On that occasion, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for VinFast’s investment commitment worth US$1.2 billion for the development of the electric car and battery ecosystem in Indonesia.

The meeting also discussed Indonesia-Vietnam fisheries cooperation.

“I hope for Vietnam’s parliamentary support to smoothen the ratification process and push the Vietnamese Government to finalize the negotiation so that it can produce concrete cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Fisheries Cooperation that prioritizes international law and both countries’ respective national laws,” said the President.

President Jokowi and Chairperson of the National Assembly of Vietnam also discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The President also expressed appreciation for the MoU on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation and expressed hope that this commitment can improve partnership between the two countries.
