President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (10/25) handed over cash transfer program (BLT), fuel oil cash assistance, and wage subsidy assistance to beneficiaries at Balikpapan Post Office, Balikpapan city, East Kalimantan province.

On that occasion, the President stated that the beneficiaries can improve children’s nutrition by using the assistance.

“The presidential assistance worth Rp1.2 million and fuel oil cash assistance worth Rp300 thousand. The assistance can be used to provide children’s nutritional needs,” the President said.

The President also said that the amount of social assistance will be increased if the state budget records a surplus.

Insyaallah, we will increase it if the state budget records a surplus. The most important thing now is that everyone has received the assistance,” he asserted.

In his statement after the handover of the social assistance, the President said that so far the distribution of fuel oil cash assistance has reached 99.7 percent while wage subsidy assistance has reached 72 percent.

On that occasion, he also expressed hope that social assistance can increase people’s purchasing power and national economic growth.

“We hope that with this assistance, public consumption and people’s purchasing power can be maintained so it will affect economic growth both in the regions and in the country as a whole,” he said. (FID/UN) (RIF/HD/MMB)
