President Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Jokowi Attend 2021 FISU World University Games

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi Friday (07/28) attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2021 FISU World University Games at Dong’s Lake Sports Park stadium in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The opening ceremony began at 20.00 local time. The President and the First Lady were seen at VVIP stadium tribune with other State Leaders invited to the event.

When Indonesian contingent was entering the field, President Jokowi and First Lady Ibu Iriana were enthusiastic and waved to them.

For the record, 119 participating countries will compete from July 28 to August 8, 2023. As many as 51 Indonesian athletes will compete in eight sport branches including swimming, athletics, judo, tennis, taekwondo, badminton, wushu, and rowing.

Earlier, the President had met Indonesian contingent at the Shangri-La hotel in Chengdu, PRC in the afternoon.
