President Jokowi Inspects COVID-19 Handling Command Post in E. Java

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (25/6) headed to East Java Province to conduct a series of working visit to Surabaya and Banyuwangi.

President Jokowi and his entourage boarded the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft at around 08.15 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and landed at Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency.

Upon arrival, the President is scheduled to inspect the East Java COVID-19 Handling Command Post in the Negara Grahadi Building, Surabaya City.

“Today, the President will begin his working visit by inspecting the COVID-19 Task Force Post in Surabaya. The President will give directives on COVID-19 handling,” the Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said.

After inspecting the COVID-19 Handling Command Post, the President is also scheduled to return to Juanda International Airport to leave for Banyuwangi International Airport, East Java Province.

The President began his agenda in Banyuwangi by inspecting the traditional markets and the Rogojampi Public Service Market.

Afterward, the President is slated to inspect the So Long Beach on the readiness in the implementation of the new normal order in the tourist destination.

“The President expressed his hope that people in the surrounding areas can be productive to exploit tourism in Banyuwangi so that we are not stuck by the condition of Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Heru said.

In the afternoon, the President will return to Banyuwangi International Airport to depart for Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta.

Also joining the President during the visit were, among others, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio, and the Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono. (BPMI / EN)
