President Jokowi Inspects Kepahiang General Regional Hospital
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (07/20) inspected stunting reduction efforts and several healthcare facilities in Kepahiang General Regional Hospital in Kepahiang regency, Bengkulu province.
“I came to Kepahiang General Regional Hospital to firstly ensure that stunting is also being handled at this hospital,” he said in his press statement following the inspection.
President Jokowi expressed appreciation for the facilities and the number of healthcare workers at the hospital, adding that the number of medical specialists is adequate.
“I am pleased because Kepahiang Hospital is a type C hospital that has 124 beds, but it already has 13 medical specialists. Great,” he said, adding that the number of specialists is a common problem at other general hospitals.
The President also expressed appreciation for the hospital’s hygiene and accreditation.
“I noticed that the hygiene and accreditation are perfect,” he said while stating that the hospital still require equipment for cataract surgery.
“There was a problem about equipment for cataract surgery. I will send it immediately,” he remarked. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (DH/LW)
