President Jokowi Inspects Melonguane Market in N. Sulawesi
In a series of working visits to North Sulawesi province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (12/28) visited Melonguane Market located in Talaud Islands regency.
Arriving at 12.40 Central Indonesian Time, President Jokowi was greeted enthusiastically by residents and local traders.
“Mr. President, welcome to Talaud,” the residents said.
On that occasion, the President took a tour of the market area, engaging with traders and inspecting the prices of essential commodities, as well as distributing social assistance to the community.
In addition, after the President left the market, more people gathered along the roadside to greet and meet him first-hand.
“Pak Jokowi!” cheered a group of students in a line while waving small red and white flags in their hands.
Irwanto, a motorized becak (pedicab) driver, seized the opportunity to get close to the President and take a photo with him. He also shared that it was indeed a moment of pride for him.
“I never expected this. It’s truly an honor for me to take a photo with the President. I sincerely wish him continued good health and blessings,” he said.
After spending roughly 30 minutes at the market, President Jokowi and his entourage proceeded to the next series of work visit activities. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/MUR)
