President Jokowi Launches Chinese Property Project Delonix Nusantara at IKN
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Delonix Nusantara at Nusantara Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan province, on Wednesday (09/25).
The construction of Delonix Nusantara is funded by a Chinese investor Delonix Bravo Investment. This investment underscores the trust of foreign investors in investing in the new capital.
“This morning, we held the groundbreaking ceremony for an investment in education from Australia, then we also conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for property construction funded by an investor from Russia. On this good occasion, we also conduct the groundbreaking of Delonix Nusantara, a mixed-use property funded by an investor from China,” said the President.
President Jokowi mentioned that the influx of foreign investment is a proof of investors’ confidence in Nusantara as an attractive location for investment. He explained that Delonix Group will build mixed-use areas with an investment value of approximately Rp500 billion.
“This mixed-use development will be built on a 24,000 square meters land and will be developed for a hotel, serviced apartments, shopping center, offices, and a sports and fitness center in Nusantara area,” he added.
He also stated that the Delonix Group’s investment in Nusantara will boost other investors’ confidence to invest in the new capital. The President urged investors to begin their investments this year, as land prices in Nusantara could change dramatically at any time.
“Land prices are indeed still low this year, but we don’t know about next year. Land prices could double, triple, five times, or even ten times. So, I need to remind you if you want to invest, better start this year,” the President said.
He expressed belief that Delonix Nusantara will thrive alongside the ongoing development in Nusantara.
“Delonix Nusantara will grow rapidly in Nusantara and become part of the progress of Nusantara as Indonesia’s future capital,” the President remarked. (TGH/DNS) (EST/MMB)
