President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo applauded Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for the implementation of early tender of infrastructure projects this year.

“I really appreciate the early tender conducted by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), so that the budget at the Ministry can be allocated for several projects immediately,” President Jokowi said during the inauguration of Nanjung Tunnel project and the contracts signing of early auction of Ministry of Public Works and Housing for the 2020 fiscal year in Bandung, West Java Province, Wednesday (29/1).

According to the President, all ministries and regional governments should conduct auctions as early as possible so that every project can be executed at the beginning of the year.

“We will be able to get higher infrastructure quality due to an early auction process,” the President added.

On that occasion, the President also mentioned that the state budget provided for Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for the 2020 fiscal year amounts to Rp120 trillion.

“The budget will be used for infrastructure development from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island,” the President said. (TGH/EN)
