President Jokowi Receives State Decoration from Timor Leste

Inspection in the ranks of honor by President of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Taur Matan Ruak and President Jokowi (26/1)

Upon arrival at Nicolau Lobato Airport, Dili, Timor Leste, on Tuesday (26/1), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi, along with the presidential entourage, directly headed to Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Presidential Palace.

President of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Taur Matan Ruak and First Lady Isabel da Costa Ferreira welcomed the arrival of President Jokowi in a presidential official ceremony which started on 11 a.m. local time.

After the ceremony, President Jokowi and First Lady signed the guest book prepared by the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Presidential Palace and took a group photo with President Taur Matan Ruak and First Lady Isabel da Costa Ferreira. President Jokowi then had a meeting with his Timor Leste counterpart at Sala Nino Konis Santana Room of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Presidential Palace.

After the meeting, President Jokowi was bestowed with the Highest State Decoration of Timor Leste, Grande Colar de Timor Leste. The bestowal was a form of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste’s appreciation to the Government of Indonesia for the visit.

President Jokowi’s next agenda is to have luncheon held at Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Presidential Palace. After luncheon, President Jokowi and his entourage headed to Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Government Palace.

Several agreements were planned to be signed by the governments of the two countries.

During the working visit, President Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi, Head of National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Henry Bambang Soelistyo, and Head of National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) Mustari lrawan.
