Synchronization of policy on climate change among developed and developing countries is important, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during CEOs Forum with several UK’s major investors in Glasgow, Scotland on Monday (01/11).

“All of us, including developed countries [and developing countries], must show more concrete steps in managing climate change, especially in terms of funding support for developing countries in carrying out energy transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy,” the President said.

In addition to the issue, President Jokowi expressed hope that the adaptation fund amounting to US$100 billion from developed countries must be immediately realized in order to accelerate measures to tackle climate change.

“In recent years, Indonesia has shown concrete steps in terms of climate change management. “Indonesia has adopted the Long-Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience 2050 and a detailed road map to achieve the net zero emission target by 2060 or earlier,” the President said.

And by the end of the year more than 50 percent of the Indonesian population are estimated to have received their second dose,” he remarked.
