President Jokowi: Security’s Top Priority Ahead of Christmas and New Year

After returning from a series of working visits to East Java Province and Central Java Province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo chaired a limited meeting on the preparations ahead of Christmas celebration and New Year 2019, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Friday (21/12).

In his introductory remarks, the President put emphasis on three things. First, regarding the stability of food prices and the availability of basic commodities including fuel supply. Second, the smoothness, comfort, and safety of transportation users.

“Last but not least, let us create a sense of security to the community and continue to maintain harmony, tolerance, unity and a conducive situation as it is today,” the President firmly said.

Attending the limited meeting were, among others, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Transportation Budi K. Sumadi, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and the National Police (Polri) Chief Gen.
