President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo emphasized the importance of unity and the nation’s power to achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision. Unity, which includes cooperation and solidarity among all elements of society, serves as the key to facing the challenges ahead, while sovereignty ensures that Indonesia can stand tall as an independent nation that determines its own policies.

“I’m convinced and believe that with our unity and cooperation, with continuity that we maintain, Indonesia, as a sovereign and a strong nation will make a leap of progress and achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision,” President Jokowi said during the 2024 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Nusantara Building, MPR/DPR/DPD RI, Jakarta, Friday (08/16).

As his term draws to an end, President Jokowi expressed his apologies for every hope that has not been materialized, for every dream that has not been realized. He entrusted the future of the nation to President-Elect Prabowo Subianto.

“On October 20, 2024, allow me to pass the leadership baton to President-elect Prabowo Subianto. Allow me also to share with you the hopes and dreams of all Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to the Island of Rote,” he said, while wishing that the God Almighty continues to grace His guidance and ease for the next tenure.

“Long live the Republic of Indonesia! Long live the land of Pancasila! Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!” the President remarked. (KS/MAY/TGH/FID/DNS) (EST/MUR)
