President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (03/01) visited the Nusantara Capital (IKN) Command Center and the national public television network TVRI’s mini studio located in the IKN area, East Kalimantan province.

The Nusantara Command Center is designed to optimize the development of the Nusantara Capital City as well as to ensure integration and coordination. It is also one of the main infrastructures supporting the Nusantara smart city.

The phase 1 Command Center has the main function of monitoring the construction of the Nusantara Capital equipped with CCTV-based surveillance and monitoring technology, visual-based drone monitoring, and digital service integration.

During the visit to the mini studio, President Director of TVRI Imam Brotoseno said that in compliance with the regulation, TVRI must present in the capital city of the country.

For the record, Government Regulation Number 11 of 2005 on the Organization of Public Broadcasting Institutions states that RRI and TVRI are located in the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia and their branches are located in the regions.

“It means that TVRI must reside in the Nusantara, the new capital of the country in the near future,” he said.

Furthermore, Imam explained that TVRI’s presence in IKN is a commitment from TVRI to support the development of IKN, as well as disseminate on IKN and provide information both domestic and abroad through TVRI World.

“TVRI World is specifically designed for global audiences abroad and broadcasts in English. There are also investment opportunities mentioned, inviting investors to visit IKN,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/LW)
