President Jokowi Visits Pekalongan to Open 2023 World Sufi Gathering

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo on Tuesday (08/29) arrived at Cakrabhuwana Airport, Cirebon city, West Java province for a working visit in Pekalongan city, Central Java province.

Welcoming the President and Ibu Iriana at the airport were West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, Commander of the III Military Regional Command (Pangdam III)/Siliwangi Major General Kunto Arief Wibowo and spouse, West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus and spouse, Deputy Mayor of Cirebon Eti Herawati, Air Force Base Commander Sugiri Sukarni, and Lt. Col. Pnb. Supardo Butarbutar and spouse.

In Pekalongan city, President Jokowi is scheduled to inaugurate the opening of the 2023 World Sufi Gathering that will be held at Sahid International Convention Centre.

The President is also slated to inspect and give social assistance to market traders and street vendors at the Grogolan market. He will then spend the night in Semarang city before continuing his visit the next morning. (SI/FI)
