President Prabowo Expresses Appreciation for Red and White Cabinet’s Unity
President Prabowo Subianto has expressed appreciation to the Red and White Cabinet for their solid work and ability to properly overcome multiple issues at the beginning of the administration period.
“I would like to thank you for continuing to work as a team while I was abroad,” he said at the plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Monday (12/02).
The President pointed out that despite being away for an overseas working trip, he continued to monitor the situation at home, including the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki.
“I monitored it from afar through vicon. By the looks of it, it is under control and we are responsive. The military and police also acted swiftly,” he said, ensuring that the natural disaster is well-managed.
During the meeting, the President highlighted a number of notable achievements at the onset of his administration, such as the MSME debt write-off, the increase in the national average minimum wage, the improvement in teachers’ well-being, and the reduction of airplane tickets by 10 percent nearing the end of the year.
“I feel it everywhere. The people sense our continued commitment to standing with them and upholding the national interest,” he said while expressing optimism that Indonesia would not have to import rice as the national rice reserves amounted to almost two million tons.
“We will be free from rice imports, but we also need to be free from other imported food commodities,” he said.
President Prabowo also expressed appreciation to the Home Minister for monitoring inflation control, and to the General Elections Commission (KPU), Regional General Elections Commissions (KPUD), Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Indonesian National Police (Polri), and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) for executing the nationwide simultaneous general elections safely and smoothly.
The President concluded his introductory remarks by asking his cabinet to ensure a smooth preparation for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
“We must ensure that the people can have a safe, orderly, and smooth New Year’s. This is an opportunity for us to improve our economy,” he remarked. (TGH/DNS) (DH/LW)
