President Prabowo Launches Danantara for Sustainable Investment Management

President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Board (Danantara), Indonesia’s new sovereign wealth fund, on Monday (02/24) on the grounds of Jakarta Presidential Palace as a strategic measure to manage national investment for sustainable growth.
“The launching of Danantara Indonesia today marks an important milestone because Danantara Indonesia is not a mere investment management board. It must become a national development instrument that will optimize our way of managing Indonesia’s wealth,” he said.
President Prabowo stated that Danantara is expected to change the method of national wealth management for the wellbeing of the people, adding that the Government has proven its commitment with discipline and accountable financial governance.
“We have proven our commitment to managing state wealth with strict financial discipline and accountable governance during the first 100 days of my administration. We have managed to secure more than Rp300 trillion, almost USD20 billion in the form of state savings,” he said.
The President pointed out that the fund will be managed by Danantara and invested in national industrialization and downstreaming projects while expressing confidence that the projects will create significant added value for Indonesia.
“High-impact projects that will create significant added value for our nation, will create real benefits, create quality jobs, and bring long-term prosperity to the people of Indonesia,” he said.
On that occasion, the President also expressed appreciation for the hard work of all elements involved in establishing Danantara, adding that it is a milestone in Indonesia’s journey to economic independence, resilience, and prosperity.
“Daya Anagata Nusantara means the energy for the country’s future, the power of the future for Indonesia,” he said while underscoring that the investment board must be managed in a prudent and transparent manner.
“With this optimism, let us move together, unite in a shared purpose, strengthen our intention, and believe that Indonesia’s greatest achievement lies ahead of us. Ladies and Gentlemen, we must believe that Indonesia will realize her goals. We will become a developed country, a prosperous country, a respected country,” he remarked.
For the record, the launching event was also attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the seventh President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President Boediono, and the 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
