President Prabowo Reaffirms Indonesia’s Commitment to Support Open and Fair Trade in APEC 2024

President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to support an open, orderly, and fair trade. He conveyed this statement during the Leaders’ Retreat of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit which was held in Lima, Peru, on Saturday (16/11).

He further explained that APEC was a strategic platform to strengthen relations between countries in the Asia-Pacific region. “Yes, I think this is a great opportunity for APEC that we continue maintaining a network among leaders in the Pacific. We have discussed challenges to maintain a good trade which is open but fair,” the President said.

He also highlighted the importance of well-organized international trade, and emphasized Indonesia’s position to continue to support an orderly, open, and fair trade. “We want an orderly, open, and fair trade,” the President reaffirmed.

As one of the largest economies in the region, Indonesia is committed to playing an active role in ensuring equality in global trade. At this APEC Summit, President Prabowo participated in a number of bilateral meetings with other countries leaders, including discussing the measures to strengthen trade relations, increase investment, and explore new mutually beneficial cooperations.
