President Prabowo Subianto Accorded Ceremonial Reception at Rashtrapati Bavan

President of the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Prabowo Subianto Saturday (25/01) was accorded a ceremonial reception at the Presidential Palace of Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking his state visit to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and India.

On the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bavan, President of the Republic of India, H.E. Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of the Republic of India, H.E. Narendra Modi, greeted the Indonesian President.

President Prabowo Subianto then conducted series of processions which combine tradition and military greatness. His arrival was accompanied by 21 cannon shots.

The Head of State also received a salute from the honor guard, including a number of horsemen. The procession was followed by the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Indian national anthem. He also inspected the guard of honor.  The two leaders then introduced their respective delegates.

Closing the series of events, President Prabowo Subianto, President Murmu, and PM Modi took a photo session, marking the symbol of friendship and strategic cooperations between the two countries.

During the press conference, the Indonesian President conveyed his appreciation for the invitation and warm welcome from the Government of India, saying that India is Indonesia’s close friend and one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Indonesia.

“We will never forget what India did to help us,” the President said.

He also extended his gratitude to President Murmu and PM Modi for their kind invitations to be the Chief Guest on the celebration of the 76th Republic Day of India, reiterating his commitment to enhancing cooperations and strategic partnerships between the two countries.
