President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto Monday (01/27) undertook a state visit to Malaysia.

Upon arrival at the Malaysia’s National Palace (Istana Negara), President Prabowo Subianto was officially welcomed by the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The state welcoming ceremony was held at the Peterana Diraja of the National Palace.

The national anthems of both countries Indonesia Raya and Negaraku were played, and a 21-gun salute was fired to welcome the Indonesian President.

President Prabowo Subianto also inspected the honor guard in the courtyard of the National Palace.

After the inspection, the national anthems of Indonesia and Malaysia were played again, symbolizing the close friendship between the two nations.

Following the state welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo Subianto, along with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, entered the National Palace to proceed with the official agenda.

The Indonesian President also signed the official guest book and introducing delegations from both countries.

On that occasion, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim conferred the prestigious Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) honorary award on President Prabowo Subianto.

Established on July 31, 1886, the Darjah Kerabat Johor is one of the highest honors of the Johor Sultanate.

Bearing the motto “Muafakat Itu Berkat” (Concord is a Blessing), this award is traditionally given to Malay rulers, close royal relatives, and foreign leaders who have significantly contributed to strengthening bilateral relations.

As a recipient of this prestigious award, President Prabowo Subianto joined a distinguished list of global figures who have been previously honored, including Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Saadul Khairi Waddien (1960), Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah (1969), President Soeharto (1990), Pengiran Isteri Mariam (1997), Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa (2017), and Pengiran Muda Mahkota al-Muhtadee Billah (2023).

This conferment further underscores the close diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, which continue to be strengthened through cooperation in various strategic sectors. It also reaffirms Indonesia’s position as one of Malaysia’s key partners in Southeast Asia.

Beyond reinforcing bilateral ties, this award serves as a symbol of respect for Indonesia’s leadership in maintaining regional stability and fostering international collaboration. This moment highlights the importance of the enduring friendship between the two nations expected to continue flourishing in the future.

President Prabowo Subianto then held a meeting with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, discussing efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia in multiple strategic areas.

As the concluding event of the state visit, the Indonesian President attended a state luncheon hosted by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.
