President Prabowo Subianto Friday (03/21) organized an iftar with members of the Merah Putih Cabinet at the Jakarta Presidential Palace.

This moment served as an opportunity to strengthen unity and synergy among government officials.

Also present at the gathering was Ustaz Adi Hidayat, who delivered a religious sermon (tausiah) on the virtues of fasting. In his sermon, he emphasized the importance of fasting as a means to optimize one’s piety (taqwa) to the Almighty God.

“The Prophet said that the essence of fasting is that strengthening your connection with God will positively impact your moral character, thereby building strong integrity,” said Ustaz Adi Hidayat.

“This is the key message from the Prophet: when a person successfully observes fasting and maintains a good relationship with God, that divine connection becomes a moral compass, fostering integrity in all aspects of life,” he continued.

The cleric also explained that when a strong moral character is present alongside unwavering integrity, a person develops a deep connection with God, adding that regardless of whether an individual is being supervised by their leader or not, they will carry out their duties with sincerity because they feel accountable to God.

“Even without being monitored by a superior, unseen by their leader, a person with a high moral character and strong integrity will always act correctly and responsibly because they are aware of God’s watchful presence,” he stated.

This gathering was also expected to further strengthen inter-ministerial and institutional synergy in realizing an effective government that delivers tangible benefits to the public. (BPMI Setpres) (AS/EP)
