President Prabowo Subianto Receives Honorary Welcome at Peru’s Government Palace

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, paid an official visit to the President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Boluarte, at the Government Palace of Peru on Thursday (14/11). Arriving around 2:00 PM local time, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Chief of State Protocol of Peru, Luis Escalante Schuler, and the Head of Peru’s Casa Militar as he stepped onto the palace grounds.

President Prabowo proceeded through the honor guard, pausing briefly to pay respect to the Peruvian flag. He then walked to the designated area where President Dina Boluarte awaited to welcome him.

At the reception area, both heads of state stood together to honor the national anthems of their respective countries, starting with “Indonesia Raya,” followed by Peru’s national anthem, “Somos Libres.”

The presidents then introduced the delegations from their respective countries. President Prabowo introduced the Indonesian delegation to President Dina Boluarte, followed by President Boluarte introducing the Peruvian delegation.

A tête-à-tête meeting between the two presidents took place in the Dorada Room. The discussion aimed to strengthening bilateral relations. Following this, both presidents joined their delegations for a bilateral meeting to discuss strategic cooperation in various sectors.

After the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo and President Dina Boluarte witnessed the signing of a Visa-Free Agreement for Holders of Diplomatic and Service or Special Passports, symbolizing enhanced diplomatic relations between the two countries. The agreement was signed by Indonesia’s Foreign Minister, Sugiono, and Peru’s Foreign Minister, Elmer Schialer Salcedo.

The official visit concluded with a joint press statement, where the two presidents expressed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation between Indonesia and Peru.
