President Prabowo Welcomes Ustaz Adi Hidayat, Representatives of Al Azhar University of Cairo at Presidential Palace

President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Ustaz Adi Hidayat and representatives from Al Azhar University of Cairo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Friday (03/21).
The meeting proceeded with a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the close relations between Indonesia and Egypt, specifically in education and Islamic preaching.
President Prabowo welcomed the guests in the Assembly Room. He then also shared a meaningful conversation with Ustaz Adi Hidayat and other scholars and academics from the university, including Abdallah Mohamed Hemeida, Ibrahim Mohamed Anwar, Ahmed Hassan Ahmed, Mostafa Yassin Saleh, Rabei Ismail Elsobki, Maisara Galal Elbawab, Ahmed Elawady, Ahmed Abdelhalim, Ali Elsayed Attia, Ahmed Abdelazim Eltabak, and Ustaz Mamduh Tirmidzi.
On the occasion, Ustaz Adi Hidayat expressed his gratitude for the President’s warm welcome. He also underlined the importance of cooperation between Indonesia and Al Azhar, particularly in reinforcing the understanding of Islam as rahmatan lil alamin – a blessing for all.
The meeting also discussed efforts to develop religious education in Indonesia and collaboration plans between Islamic boarding schools in the country and Al Azhar University. In addition, Al Azhar representatives also submitted a research proposal to the President.
The Al Azhar representatives expressed their utmost appreciation for the Indonesian Government’s attention towards Indonesian alumni and students pursuing education in Cairo and expressed hope that the proposal would mark a concrete step towards bolstering academic cooperation between both countries.
Afterward, President Prabowo invited all guests to break their fast with the Cabinet at the center courtyard of the Presidential Palace. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/MUR)
