I am really impressed and thankful to the Regent of Banyumas and its ranks. This is a breakthrough, a good initiative. We have been able to manage waste without fancy technology, but it has proven effective, using mostly local products and a single system chain from the household to the regency.
The Governor of Central Java had also reported to me that some Regents have been implementing the same technology, around 13 [Regents]. So, the central government will support this; I will instruct to provide direct aid for development and enhancement, and to make the technology more effective. The roof tile is ok, effective. It is not pricey, so it can be used in the home repair assistance program. The budget for one home is Rp20 million. We have calculated that the cost of the roof tile will be around Rp4-5 million. We want to eliminate the use of rusted corrugated metal because it is badly affecting the health of the residents. It is also not pleasing to the eye. We will make Indonesia beautiful again. So it will be good for tourism and also comfortable for the residents.
