President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
The most important thing is that inflation rate remains under control, including foodstuff prices in this market. I check that eggs have a good price of Rp26,000-Rp27,000. And the price of chilies also fell down. How much is it, Sir?

Minister of Trade (Zulkifli Hasan)
Sir, the price of chilies drops by Rp20,000.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
The price of chilies is too cheap. The prices of shallots and garlic also remain stable at Rp30,000. We will take measures to control the inflation rate and make foodstuff prices remain low. This is what I desire, we have an abundant supply, yet the price stability can still be controlled and people’s purchasing power will improve.

Journalist
What measures would you take to control the price, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Let me take chicken eggs as an example. If we have sufficient and abundant supply, the price will definitely go down. The production of chilies is also abundant, so the price will also go down. The key lies in the amount of supply. Therefore, the road infrastructure is important to facilitate the access and to reduce logistic costs. It will certainly affect the price in traditional markets.

Journalist
Will there be an inspection for the roads later, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Of course, I’d like to inspect several roads in Lampung right after.

Journalist
Did you come to the province because of the damaged roads that finally went viral, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
We came here to check the inflation rate, foodstuff prices, and the province’s infrastructure, especially the roads. The infrastructure is crucial. The logistic costs depend on the infrastructure in certain regions.

Journalist
Could you tell us when the accessible roads will be completed?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
The construction will start as soon as possible. Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing will take over the construction, especially those badly damaged roads. Are we clear?
