Pak, regarding today’s event, you said about investment target amounting at Rp.1,650 trillion. What do you think about the Government’s strategy to achieve the target?

Well, we have experienced to increase investment target in 2022. I think we have learned from our previous experience to be able to achieve the target at Rp.1,650 trillion. However, we must work hard because global economic situation is still not good. So, our investment issues are not only about marketing but also domestic issues, land acquisition, licensing procedures that must be followed and must be completed. Those are the keys. We do not have to do marketing around countries while we cannot solve domestic issues. It’s useless.

Pak, regarding a letter of Vice Minister of Laws and Human Rights to resign from his position, have you received the letter?

No, I haven’t received it yet. Until this morning, the letter is not on my desk yet.

Alright. Then, about the incident at COP 2023, Pak. On Twitter, it becomes a narration that some participants walked out while you were delivering your remarks.

The most important thing is that we have done a real action to address the reduction of global climate change issue. Our deforestation as well as forest and peatland fires have dropped considerably. Then, we have constructed nursery with production capacity of 75 million, both in Rumpin – Bogor and mangrove Denpasar. We also have seeds for tropical rainforest in Mentawir, Labuan Bajo. I think these are concrete and real actions. I think those are important things we have done.

Pak, other narration appears that your working visits last few days were to follow one of President/Vice President candidates for campaign, such as yesterday visit to East Nusa Tenggara?

No, it’s not as you think. The agenda of the President’s visit has been organized three months before and indeed the visit has a purpose. For example, yesterday I visited Kupang to inaugurate hospital worth of Rp.420 billion, a huge hospital. The ministry’s request for inauguration has been submitted three months before, “Pak, we request you to inaugurate the hospital”.

The request for inauguration of the Cathedral Church in Kupang yesterday was submitted for a long time. So, the visit was not planned in one-two days. Not as you think. It was planned long before.
