Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Indonesian National Air Forces’ Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta Capital Province, June 7, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Today, together with the First Lady and a limited delegation, I will be embarking on a brief working visit to Singapore and Malaysia on the 7th and 8th of June 2023.

In Singapore, the visit will only last a few hours, primarily to participate in the Ecosperity Week 2023 organized by the Temasek Foundation. This event will be attended by various investors, academics, and government officials. I will utilize this meeting to promote investments, particularly in the areas of energy transition, green infrastructure, and the development of the Nusantara Capital.

Later today, I will proceed directly to Kuala Lumpur for a reciprocal visit in response to the invitation from the Prime Minister of Malaysia. During my time in Malaysia, I will hold meetings with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah.

My visit to Malaysia will be utilized to resolve a host of long-standing, unresolved negotiations, namely issues regarding borders and the protection of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), as well as other important matters.
