Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia During Working Visit to Kalimantan Industrial Park Project, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province, February 28, 2023

This is the Indonesia Industrial Park area, which covers an area of 13,000 hectares in total and will be prepared for the development of the first EV battery, petrochemicals, and aluminum industries. We hope they will be supported by green energy, renewable energy, and hydropower from Mentarang river and Kayan river in North Kalimantan province.

Indeed, transition is needed, not directly to green energy. There is a transition. We hope that with competitive strength like that and with all green energy and energy products the region produces, it can be the strength of this industrial park.

This is the biggest green industrial park in the world and this is the future of Indonesia. The future of Indonesia is here. If we can properly develop this, any industry related to green products will definitely look to this area.

I will continue following up on the progress from day to day, from month to month, so that it will not miss the schedule we have set. As I can see here, it seems that nothing will hinder (the development). All permits are completed.
