President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Finally we have a 192 megawatt PLTS (Solar Power Plant). This is a floating solar power plant, the largest in Southeast Asia. I think after this, I have also spoken with Minister Dr. Thani from the UAE, later the capacity will be increased to around 500 megawatts. We hope that more and more new renewable energy will be built in our country, Indonesia, be it solar power plant, hydropower, geothermal, then wind power. I think if we continue to consistently carry it out like this it will be very good.

Press
Sir, beside the UAE, is there any other investors for the new renewable energy?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Many countries have shown interest but the Government wants to do it one at a time. We will not receive all. The next hydropower plant may be larger than this but it is not final yet.

Press
Sir, this power plant provides power for which areas? Only for Jakarta, West Java, or up to Bandung?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
At the moment still for Cirata area only.

Press
Sir, what percentage is the expected increase from the Cirata PLTS for new renewable energy mix in Indonesia?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Our target next year should be 23 percent, but it’s not easy because there was COVID-19 so we should catch up with that figure. But our commitment remains that we will continue to pursue the target.

Press
Sir, after this one, any other projects in Sumatra or other regions?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Everything is still on process, not final yet, so I will not talk further. But the largest will be hydropower.

Press
Is this for households or factories or both?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
All. However, the demand for green energy for industry is the greatest, because everyone wants to get premium products from green energy.
