His Excellency President Biden, Excellencies Leaders of partner countries of IPEF (Indo-Pacific Economic Framework).

Indonesia is always open to tie cooperation with every country based on a mutual benefit principle. Such principle has been the foundation of Indonesia to participate in IPEF meeting. Understanding each other’s national demands, especially the concerns of developing countries, is key to tie a good cooperation.

The success of IPEF will depend highly on how all parties can feel the benefits of it. Cooperation in the development of green economy, cooperation in the expansion of trade and investment, as well as cooperation in the improvement of energy transition and critical minerals supply chains will serve as important pillars of IPEF cooperation.

We must create concrete cooperation in those priority sectors. I’d like to extend my appreciation for the signing of the Pillar II agreement on supply chains as a concrete implementation of IPEF Countries in responding to the global supply chain disruption.

I also welcome the substantial conclusion of the negotiations of Pillar III, Clean Economy, and the Pillar IV, Fair Economy.

Indonesia is committed to completing the negotiations of Pillar I in 2024 and implementing the mutual agreement.

I thank you.

(AY/MEP)
