Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, Alhamdulillahirrabbilalamin, wassalatu wassalamu’ala ashrafil anbiya i wal-mursalin, Sayidina wa habibina wa syafiina wa maulana Muhammaddin, wa’ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma’in amma ba’du.

Distinguished Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,
Distinguished Religious Leaders, Habaib, and Ulemas,
Distinguished Cabinet Ministers and Heads of Government Institutions,
Distinguished Governors, Regents, and Mayors,
Distinguished Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and leaders of Muslim organizations,

All Muslims across the country,

We celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha modestly by observing health protocols. However, it will not reduce solemnity in expressing gratitude and praise to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Eid al-Adha sends a noble message for us, a message of sacrifice and humanity. This universal message remains relevant and should be taken into account when our nation are tackling the ongoing pandemic.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Prophet Ibrahim has set an example for us, reminding us of the importance of faith, piety and sincerity to sacrifice without a doubt to carry out Allah’s commands. Amid the current pandemic, we need to be willing to sacrifice even more and to sacrifice our personal interests for the interests of our communities and others

This is a momentum to strengthen solidarity among Muslims and to strengthen national and human solidarity in building optimism to rise together. We should continue our efforts and our prayers and strive together in observing health protocols: wearing a face mask, washing hands, maintaining a safe distance, doing self-isolation for those contracting the virus, and lending hands for others

We should learn from the wisdom of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice. We pray and recite takbir from our home, continuing to pray and strive for the end of the pandemic.

Let us pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to heal the sick and to give strength to those who are carrying out humanitarian tasks.

May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala bless us with forbearance and strength to face all the difficulties. May He bless our efforts so we can achieve victory against COVID-19 pandemic. Aamiin, aamiin ya rabbal alamin.

 Allaahu akbar
Allaahu akbar
Allaahu akbar
Laa illaa haillallahuwaallaahuakbar
Allaahu akbar walillaahil hamd.

I thank you. (RI/EP)
