How was your visit to Barito Market, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
There’s no problem with the prices. For example, chicken was Rp 38,000, shallot and garlic were Rp 35,000 – 40,000, and cooking oil was Rp 16,000. I believe the prices are similar to those in Java.
Journalist:
So, the prices were the same as your previous visit, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
Yes, it’s similar to the prices in East Kotawaringin, meaning there’s no problem with the distribution. There’s no problem with the goods transported to reach markets in all regions. Also, chili was Rp 50,000. It’s a good price.
Journalist:
So, in terms of availability, is it still stable, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
Yes, given the current prices, it means we have the stock. If the stock decreased, prices would rise immediately. That’s how the market works.
Journalist:
How was the hospital visit, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
We’re distributing modern medical equipment like cath labs, mammography, CT scans, MRI machines. We need to assess the readiness of hospitals, including their facilities and buildings, through sampling. [We also need] the human resources. Once the equipment has been available, do we have the personnel? Some are ready, some are not, some are sufficient, and many are still insufficient. Minister of Health will address these issues.

So, during this visit, what’s your take on the healthcare professionals, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
There are 13 medical specialists here. We still have a shortage such as cardiologists, neurologists, and oncologists. It’s also happening anywhere else. Therefore, we need to increase the number of medical specialists as I mentioned earlier.

Will there be any National Strategic Projects built in East Barito?
Considering its proximity to the Nusantara Capital, will there be any National Strategic Projects built in East Barito?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
Not yet, up to now.

What’s your response to the Corruption Eradication Commission investigating the 2020 Social Assistance Funds, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo):
I believe it’s a follow-up to the past events. It should follow legal procedures according to the authorities that the law enforcement officials have.
