Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia After Attending Inaugural Meeting of Board of Peace, Washington DC, USA, Thursday, February 19, 2026

Alhamdulillah, [the meeting] went well and ran smoothly. We can see the progress that has been made. At the same time, I believe that the volume of food aid and essential supplies currently reaching the people of Gaza, is among the highest in recent years. Food is sufficient and other necessities are clearly flowing in. We can also see that the plans for the future are being prepared with great seriousness.

We are determined to make this initiative a success because it offers hope and the prospect of peace. However, as I mentioned in my brief statement, many difficulties, hurdles, barriers, and obstacles still lie ahead, and we must remain resolute in striving for success for the sake of the Palestinian people. We are firmly committed, and several Muslim countries have reaffirmed our shared commitment to genuinely achieving lasting peace. In our view, as expressed by  the Group of Eight Muslim countries that were first invited to take part in the Board of Peace, the only truly enduring solution is a two-state solution.

But we also emphasize that we are working hard, and in fact, I can see that the plans being prepared are truly promising, so the condition and future of the people of Gaza will be much better. At the same time, we must remain vigilant against any groups who seek  to undermine a comprehensive solution from any sides. Wit that, I conclude my statement.
