President Prabowo personally sends off Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, Friday (03/27).

President Prabowo Subianto Friday (03/27) personally saw Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim off at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta, a gesture that underscored the warm friendship between the two neighboring nations.

The occasion marked the conclusion of the Malaysian PM’s visit to Indonesia, which coincided with the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri celebrations.

After their meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, the two leaders walked together toward the vehicle, sharing light conversation and warm smiles that reflected the close bond between the two neighboring nations.

The traditional song “Rasa Sayange” played as the Prime Minister departed, further enhancing the warm and friendly atmosphere.

President Prabowo Subianto did not merely see him off at the vehicle’s door; he personally accompanied the Prime Minister by riding in the same car.

Beyond reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, this gesture also underscored the long-standing personal bond between the two leaders of the neighboring countries.

Upon arrival at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, the Prime Minister was welcomed with full honors, including a guard of honor lined up along the aircraft stairs.

A warm and friendly atmosphere was once again observed as the two leaders exchanged farewell before the Prime Minister boarded the aircraft.

Meanwhile, at the foot of the aircraft stairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were also present to see the Prime Minister off.

From the foot of the stairs, the President waved goodbye, and the Prime Minister responded with a wave from the aircraft door as a final gesture of farewell.

At approximately 19:20 Western Indonesian Time, the aircraft carrying the Prime Minister and his small entourage took off from Indonesia, bringing this brief yet meaningful visit to a close.

This visit reaffirmed that the ties between Indonesia and Malaysia rest not only on political and economic interests but are also strengthened by the shared values of brotherhood, cultural affinity, and a long-standing mutual respect.

The close relationship between the two leaders is expected to provide a strong foundation for deepening cooperation in various fields, both at the governmental level and among the peoples of the two countries. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/EP)
