President Prabowo Subianto departed for Sydney, Australia, after leading a limited Cabinet meeting at the Halim Perdanakusuma Indonesian Air Force Base in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11).

From Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, the President and his delegation took off for Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport at around 11:55 a.m. local time.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the President’s visit would include a series of important meetings, reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Australia.

“During the one-day visit, the President is scheduled to hold a tête-à-tête meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and attend a state ceremony led by the Governor-General of Australia, Sam Mostyn,” Cabinet Secretary stated in his written statement.

Cabinet Secretary also stated that during the visit, the President would attend several other meetings focusing on cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, and industrial partnerships. He also noted that the visit serves as a reciprocal gesture following Prime Minister Albanese’s visit to Indonesia earlier this year.

“This visit is also a form of reciprocation for Prime Minister Albanese’s trip to Jakarta last May, which took place a day after he was re-elected as Prime Minister of Australia,” Cabinet Secretary said.
