Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi directly inspects the management of the return traffic peak for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal in Cakung, Wednesday (3/25).

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, on Wednesday (3/25), at around 1:00 a.m. local time, directly monitored the situation during the first wave of the return traffic peak for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal in Jakarta.

“This morning, at around 2:00 a.m., I was invited by the Transportation Minister Pak Dudy Purwagandhi, to inspect Pulo Gebang Terminal,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

On that occasion, Cabinet Secretary Teddy and Minister Dudy were seen greeting homecoming travelers returning to Jakarta and its surroundings after spending the Eid al-Fitr holiday in various regions across Indonesia, such as Central Java, East Java, and Sumatra.

“We also asked passengers and overall, Alhamdulilah, the peak of the return traffic on March 24 and 25 went smoothly, as expected by the President [Prabowo Subianto] and all of us,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

He further expressed his appreciation to ministries, institutions, the police, regional governments, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and all other relevant parties who have worked in synergy to ensure the smooth and comfortable public mobility during this year’s Eid homecoming and return traffics.

“We don’t want to only receive reports. We do inspection tonight. While the homecoming traffic went smoothly, the return traffic should also go smoothly. So far, all is good,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

To anticipate the peak of the return traffic during the second wave, expected to occur on March 28 and 29, the Government has implemented traffic engineering policies such as implementing a one-way system, establishing rest areas, and limiting the use of three-axle heavy vehicles.

“The Government and all of us hope that the 2026 Eid homecoming will be better than last year,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/LW)
