President Jokowi Asks a Progress Report on Overlapping Land
After attending a Limited Meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (13/6), Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution said that President Joko Jokowi Widodo asked a progress report. The President asked a report on the progress in Kalimantan, Sumatera, as well as other provinces. He chose Kalimantan and Sumatera first because there are a lot of problems in these provinces, Darmin explained.
Land issues, the Minister added, are quite complicated due to the overlapping problem. The Minister also explained that in the Meeting, he has reported the achievements to the President. The report is quite technical, I cannot remember all. The point is, I asked directives from the President over a number of issues, for example how to solve the problem of overlapping land, Darmin added.
There should be a regulation. If not, Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) cannot solve the problem. This Agency can draw a map but if there is an overlapping, it will ask for an authority to decide who will get the permit. The President asked to review this issue, Darmin concluded.
