New Selection Committee Members to Select Best KPK Commissioners

The newly appointed Selection Committee members of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are very credible and qualified for the job, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“The committee members are expected to select the best KPK commissioners,” said President Jokowi to reporters after inspecting Badung Market in Denpasar City, Bali, Saturday (18/5).

The President said that the Government is only preparing a selection committee, while the final decision of the selection process is going to be made by the House of Representatives (DPR). However, the President expressed hope that the chosen commissioners to be the best ones.

Meanwhile, regarding the criteria of the commissioners, President Jokowi said there is no specific requirement. “The most important things are prevention and prosecution (of corruption),” he said.

For the record, President Jokowi has appointed nine Selection Committee members of the KPK as stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 54 / P Year 2019 on Establishment of the Selection Committee of the KPK Commissioners for 2019-2023 Period, dated 17 May 2019.

Those 9 (nine) members are: Dr. Yenti Ganarsih, S.H., M.H. (Chairperson-cum-Member); Prof. Dr. Indriyanto Senoadji, S.H., M.H. (Deputy Chairperson-cum-Member); Prof. Dr. Harkristuti Harkrisnowo; Prof. Dr. Marcus Priyo Gunarto, S.H., M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. Hamdi Moeloek; Dr. Diani Sadia Wati, S.H., LL.M.; Dr. Mualimin Abdi, S.H., M.H.; Hendardi, S.H.; and Al Araf, S.H., M.T.
