Vice Admiral Ade Supandi installed as Navy Chief-of-Staff by President Jokowi at the State Palace on Wednesday (31/12)

After hosting the series of a limited meeting and a plenary cabinet meeting since the morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon (31/12) installed Vice Admiral Ade Supandi as Indonesian National Navy Chief-of-Staff to replace Admiral Marsetio who already entered retirement in December 2014.

The installation of Ade Supandi is confirmed officially through Presidential Decree Number 92/TNI of 2014. Ade Supandi, a graduate of Indonesian National Naval Academy (AAL) belonging to the 28th class (or the class of 1983), previously held the position of General Chief-of-Staff.

After installing Vice Admiral Ade Supandi as the new Navy Chief-of-Staff, President Jokowi proceeded to install General (retired) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan as the Head of Presidential Staff.

Luhut Panjaitan was the Minister of Industry in the era of President KH Abdurrahman Wahid’s (or Gus Dur’s) presidency. The installation of Luhut Panjaitan is confirmed officially through Presidential Decree Number 148/P of 2014.

The installation of both the new Indonesian National Navy Chief-of-Staff and the Head of Presidential Staff was attended by, among others, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Hamdan Zoelva, Attorney General Prasetyo, Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Indroyono Soesilo, Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno, and Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto.
