Gov’t Presents Honorary Medals to 71 State Officials, Medical Personnel

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo bestowed honorary medals on 71 figures at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/11).

The awards were conferred to state officials and the 2014-2019 Working Cabinet’s state officials as well as medical personnel who died while handling COVID-19 pandemic (represented by their heirs), as a form of appreciation for their services and work.

The conferment of the awards was based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 118 and 119/TK of 2020 on the Conferment of Bintang Mahaputra and Bintang Jasa Medals, dated 6 November 2020.

The following are the names of the awardees:

  1. Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana Medals (32 Awardees)
  2. Arief Hidayat (Chief Justice for the 2015-2018 period and Constitutional Justice for the 2018-2023 period);
  3. Anwar Usman (Chief Justice for the 2018-2021 period);
  4. Aswanto (Deputy Chief Justice for the 2018-2021 period and Constitutional Justice for the 2019-2024 period);

Head of the Bureau of Titles, Merits, and Signs of Honor, Admiral Imam Suprayitno stated that the conferment was based on Law Number 20 of 2009 which regulates criteria for the granting of merits and signs of honor. These criteria include merit and outstanding achievements in pioneering and developing the field of education, economy, social, arts, culture, religion, law, health, agriculture, marine, environment, and/or other fields as well as have made outstanding contributions in various fields for the progress, welfare, and prosperity of the nation and state.
