President Jokowi Inaugurates 27.2-Km-Long Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (09/20) inaugurated Cibitung-Cilincing and Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 toll roads at Gabus Toll Gate in Bekasi regency, West Java province.
“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I officially inaugurate Cibitung-Cilincing toll road and Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 toll road that we can operate soon,” he said at the inauguration.
According to the President, the 27.2 kilometer-long Cibitung-Cilincing toll road will accelerate goods transportation, especially goods from industrial areas in northern Bekasi and logistics areas in Karawang and Bekasi regencies.
“Cibitung-Cilincing toll road will help transport goods very quickly to ports in northern Jakarta. This speed will make goods transportation easier and the speed will certainly increase the competitiveness of Indonesian products that will be exported,” he said.
The Head of State also expressed hope that Cibitung-Cilincing toll road can provide services to logistics trucks.
“I hope it can serve container trucks carrying exported goods and imported goods heading to industrial areas, logistics areas,” he said.
For the record, Cibitung-Cilincing toll road is a part of Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2 that connects Jakarta with satellite cities, including Tangerang, South Tangerang, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi. Overall, JORR 2 construction is set to be completed at the end of 2023. Meanwhile, 5.1-kilometer-long Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 toll road is a part of JORR 3. Both JORR 2 and JORR 3 are expected to reduce traffic congestion in capital Jakarta.
“If JORR 2 and JORR 3 are completed, transportation from west to east, from east to west does not have to go through central Jakarta. It will reduce congestion in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta,” he remarked. (FID/UN) (DH/MMB)
