President Jokowi Heads Back to Indonesia After African Countries Working Visit

After a five-day visit to African countries, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (08/24) headed back to Indonesia.

The Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft that carried President Jokowi and entourage took off from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa at around 14:35 local time or 19:35 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

At the airport, Minister of Environment, Forestry, and Fisheries of South Africa Barbara Creecy, Chief Director of Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) of South Africa Sindiswa Mququ, Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa Saud Purwanto Krisnawan and spouse, and Indonesian Defense Attaché in Pretoria Col. Mar. Burhanudin and spouse accompanied President Jokowi to the aircraft.

The President is expected to arrive at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatera province on Friday morning (08/25). (BPMI President Secretariat/AIT) (SI/GWH)
