Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung Tuesday (11/28) expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by all employees for the 2023 Cabinet Secretariat Table Tennis Tournament.

“In fact, I was surprised to see an ordinary table tennis tournament can bring such extraordinary excitement,” Pramono said in his remarks when closing the tournament at the Hall of Building 3 of Ministry of State Secretariat, Jakarta.

The Cabinet Secretary stated that the tournament is expected to increase friendship and brotherhood within Cabinet Secretariat’s big family.

“We must be grateful to be able to hold an event like this after the pandemic hit,” he added.

Echoing similar sentiments, Deputy to Cabinet Secretary for Human Development and Culture who is also Chair of Cabinet Secretariat’s Table Tennis Community Supervisory Board Yuli Harsono said that the tournament was initiated so that the employees could further increase cooperation and foster togetherness.

“I hope the tournament can embody the theme, namely Work Together, Play Together,” Yuli said.

For the record, around 130 employees participated in the matches. The tournament, organized by the Cabinet Secretariat Table Tennis Community, had been held from November 17-28 every Tuesday and Friday. The categories contested are men’s singles, women’s singles, and doubles.

The tournament is sponsored by state-owned bank Bank Mandiri, state-owned electricity company PT PLN, Kompas.id, Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), and PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia with a total prize of Rp50 million. Dharma Wanita Persatuan (Organization of Civil Servants’ Wives) of Cabinet Secretariat also supported the tournament by organizing a bazaar for micro and small businesses at the final day of the match. (FID/AIT/UN) (GWH/RAS/MMB)
